Extending a warm welcome to Trishan

Colorplas are very pleased to announce that Trishan Hewage will join us as Technical Operations Manager. Trishan will begin his journey with Colorplas on 4 th May 2020.

As Technical Operations Manager Trishan’s responsibilities will be to head Technical Department overseeing Research & Development, Quality Control & Technical Services. Review/overhaul current systems & projects where appropriate. Agreeing/creating with Director input, new Project/Product goals & driving their completion.

Trishan comes to us with more than 15 years of experience, having served multiple Analytical Research bodies and Companies such as Post-doctoral Research Fellow – Horizon 2020 Project (Libre), Senior Researcher – Sheffield Hallam University, Postdoctoral Research Associate – Manchester Metropolitan University, Trainee Materials Engineer – Consulting Engineers & Contractors Ltd, Management Trainee – Little Lion Associates Ltd, Research Assistant – Nano Science project – Institute of Fundamental Studies (IFS), Management Trainee and Officer In charge (OIC) – Bio foods Ltd & Research Assistant – BNF project – Institute of Fundamental Studies (IFS).

He has expertise as Materials Scientist with R&D, business development and project management credentials acquired through working on multi-disciplinary, innovative projects with specific focusses on thermal, mechanical and chemical properties. Proven experience in leadership, planning, research and implementation of new technologies, review and manage budgets to maximize the usage of resources. Knowledge of current industry trends and experience in clearly communicating complex topics to diverse audiences, thereby engendering trust and respect of peers and collaborators.

Trishan received a PhD in Advanced materials, Sheffield Hallam University, UK, 2015: PhD thesis: Mechanical Meta-material Composites with negative properties: negative stiffness and negative Poisson’s ratio.
